My Experience
Hello, I'm Tobi Frank-Martin
Okay, I admit it, I’m the one who makes the food look so good on the TV, internet, magazines, packaging and billboards that you immediately want to eat it!
I have been fortunate to provide Food Styling and recipe development services for many of the top names in food over the years from my home base in Los Angeles and around the world.
I love everything about food and continue to enjoy working on projects that are creative, challenging and filled with problem-solving opportunities.
My Most Complex Shoot
We used a hundred pounds of Bacon and gallons of hobby glue to make a bigger than life Eiffel Tower, a dog house-sized log cabin, a tornado, pilgrim hat and a Jenga game. The sculptured bust of Harley Morgenstein aka The Baconator, even had a man bun just like Harley’s.
Pizza Pulls
I have worked on pizza pulls (the luscious cheese when you lift a slice) in Hollywood studios, Italian piazzas, on Broadway in front of the Ed Sullivan Theater, Rome, Georgia, downtown Minneapolis, beautiful Vancouver, the Streets of Dubai, Chicago, the top floor of Silvercup Studios in Long Island and the beaches of Malibu and Miami.
Recipe & Menu Development
Being Executive Chef at Prufrock Pizzeria was a blast! Favorite pizza I developed… “the Toto”, delicious caramelized cauliflower crust topped with fresh mozzarella and bruschetta.
My Favorite Experience
Amazing job in Rome, Italy with Tony Scott directing. Worked out of Fellini’s production company. The pizza was supposed to have cheddar cheese on it. There is no yellow cheddar in Italy so we dyed mozzarella cheese to look like cheddar!
Working With Publix
Publix is a joy to work with. I get to cook real, beautiful, delicious food. I’ve developed many recipes for the dishes in the commercials and I get to be part of heartwarming, endearing story-lines. My favorite commercial is “Housewarming”.
